Figure Drawing: A Foundation (Open to all level)
Wednesdays, 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Working from the live model, learn to draw the structural landmarks of the human figure by combining the variations of form and plane. We will begin by simplifying light and shadow to create shapes with a step-by-step approach, which will then allow you to build the detail of the body and achieve a likeness with human expression. You will learn to create a three dimensional effect with depth of space by understanding and controlling your edges. All levels are welcome.

New Workshop to cover drawing to painting process!
Understanding process as a beginner (Open to all level)
April 1 & 2 (Saturday and Sunday)
10:00pm - 4:30pm
Many painting problems actually come from the drawing that is done to start a painting. In this 2 day workshop students will spend the first day of working on the fundamental elements of the drawing. They will review how to simplify the subject of the painting into light and shadow shapes, learn how to measure, then translate it all onto paper. Also working from simple objects, how to create form by working with soft and hard edges will be introduced. Once the exercises are reviewed, the instructor will explain the essential oil painting materials to start a painting. On second day, a step-by-step approach will be introduced to oil painting starting with a demonstration by instructor, then the students will work from the model and lay out the paint. This class will provide confidence and the know how to start a painting before they begin a monthly class.
